‘Complete Elimination’: Iranian Drone, Missile Strikes Hit US Marines On Kuwait’s Bubiyan Island

Earlier on Friday, Kuwaiti authorities confirmed that the country's main commercial port was damaged in a drone attack. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it struck US Marine forces stationed on Kuwait’s Bubiyan Island, causing casualties among American troops as tensions continue to escalate in the Gulf. In a video statement, Iranian military spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari said that Tehran carried out a combined drone and missile assault targeting US personnel, warning of what it described as a broader campaign to push American forces out of the region. “Complete elimination of American soldiers from land of Muslims," he said. The strike came as Iran intensifies retaliatory actions following the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel. US President Donald Trump has previously warned that more American casualties are likely as the confrontation deepens. Meanwhile, earlier on Friday, Kuwaiti authorities confirmed that the country’s...

Media leaks, misjudgments, and lack of trust doomed plan for Kurdish invasion to help bring down Iran’s regime — report

The US and Israel carried out heavy strikes on Iranian security forces in the northwest of Iran early in the current war because they were aiming to ease the path for an invasion by Kurdish forces “all the way to Tehran,” according to a detailed Channel 12 probe. The report claims to confirm the seriousness of an ostensible Mossad-developed plan to utilize the Kurds to help oust the regime, adding fresh details to previous such reports in Israel and internationally. Tens of thousands of armed Kurdish fighters were indeed intended to cross the border from Iraq in the first days of the war, with US and Israeli air cover. They were then to join forces with and provide arms to Kurdish fighters inside Iran, engage and extend the regime’s forces, and help reignite widespread Iranian protests, the report says. The report interviews a member of the Kurdish Freedom Party (PAK) and other Kurdish commentators asserting that there was wide agreement among Kurdish groups to “cooperate to bring down...

US Congress Report Exposes Deep Terror Networks In Pakistan, Surge In Attacks

According to the CRS, 12 of the 15 identified groups are listed as Foreign Terrorist Organisations under US law.  A recent report by the Congressional Research Service has exposed the continued presence of several militant groups operating from Pakistan. According to the analysis, Pakistan remains both a hub and a target for a wide range of armed non-state actors, many of which have been active for decades. The report also points out that successive military operations and policy measures have not fully dismantled networks designated as terrorist organisations by the United States and the United Nations. It categorises these groups into five parts—global, Afghanistan-focused, India-Kashmir oriented, domestic, and sectarian—illustrating the layered and overlapping nature of militancy in the region. According to the CRS, 12 of the 15 identified groups are listed as Foreign Terrorist Organisations under US law, and “most, but not all, are animated by Islamist extremist ideology." The...

The Strait of Hormuz is not just an oil chokepoint

Image
It is the single point of failure of globalised production. Cargo ships sail in the Gulf towards theStrait of Hormuz in United Arab Emirates, Thursday, March 19, 2026 [AP Photo] The Strait of Hormuz is the only major commercial artery on earth named after a god. The name derives from Hormoz, the Middle Persian rendering of Ahura Mazda – the Zoroastrian deity of wisdom, light, and cosmic order. This is not poetic licence; it is an etymological fact. The ancient Persians did not simply build a trade route here. They consecrated it. A place named after the god of order has become the single point where global order faces its greatest vulnerability. Through these waters – 167km (104 miles) long,  39km  (24 miles) wide at their narrowest point – pass an estimated 30,000 vessels per year. They carry not only a fifth of the world’s seaborne oil and liquified natural gas but also the urea needed for the fertilisers that grow its food, the aluminium that constructs its infrastructure, ...

The question is gaining traction as Pakistan trying hard in positioning itself as a diplomatic player in the ongoing conflict involving neighbouring Iran, now a month into escalating tensions with the US and Israel.Days earlier, Donald Trump publicly validated Pakistan’s outreach, sharing a post by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who said, "Pakistan welcomes and fully supports ongoing efforts to pursue dialogue to end the war in the Middle East, in the interest of peace and stability in the region and beyond," he said   Iran Attacks Turkey; NATO Defences Shoot Down Incoming Ballistic Missile As Ankara Fumes Pakistan, itself grappling with internal instability and recently been involved in military tensions with neighbouring Taliban-ruled Afghanistan, has now invited Turkey, Egypt and Saudi Arabia for a key meeting.Pakistan is set to host a quadrilateral meeting of foreign ministers from the four nations on March 30 to discuss regional...

Yemen’s Houthis launch missile attack on Israel as war on Iran intensifies

Image
Yemen’s Houthi rebels attacked Israel with a barrage of ballistic missiles – their first such strikes since the US-Israel war on Iran began. Brigadier-General Yahya Saree, a military spokesman for the Houthis, announced the attack on Saturday on the rebels’ Al-Masirah satellite television. Strikes “will continue until the declared objectives are achieved, as stated in  the previous statement  by the armed forces, and until the aggression against all fronts of the resistance ceases”, Saree said. The Israeli military said it intercepted one missile. The attack came hours after Saree signaled in a vague statement Friday that the rebels would join the war that has rattled the Middle East and shocked the global economy. He said the rebels fired a barrage of ballistic missiles targeting what he described as “sensitive Israeli military sites” in southern Israel. Sirens went off around Beer Sheba and the area near Israel’s main nuclear research centre for the third time overnig...

US Judge Refuses to Dismiss Narco-Terror Case Against Former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro

A US federal court judge has declined to throw out the narco-terrorism indictment, for now, against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who is imprisoned in the US after being captured by American forces in January.    Maduro’s defense had sought to have the case dismissed on the grounds that US sanctions are preventing the Venezuelan government from paying the legal fees for Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. Senior Judge Alvin Hellerstein said that he would not be throwing out the case for now as he questioned the Trump administration’s decision to continue to prohibit Caracas from footing the bill, particularly as relations warm following Maduro’s ouster.   Prosecutors had sought to defend the ongoing prohibition, saying the couple could use a public defender, but Hellerstein appeared skeptical of that argument.    The judge suggested that he could revisit his decision not to throw out the case if he later determines that the Trump administration is arbitrar...

Autopsy-Based Analysis of Landmine Blast Fatalities Associated With Left-Wing Extremism

Image
Background The utilization of landmine detonations, frequently facilitated via improvised explosive devices (IEDs), continues to be a favored strategy employed by Maoist insurgents in regions of India afflicted by left-wing extremism (LWE). Personnel tasked with anti-insurgency operations face an elevated probability of incurring fatal blast-related injuries. Conducting a forensic analysis of such fatalities is crucial to establishing consistent patterns of injury, enhancing protective measures, and guiding medico-legal protocols. Methodology A retrospective analysis was conducted at the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Ranchi, Jharkhand. Autopsy records of six security personnel who sustained fatal injuries in a landmine blast during an anti-Naxalite operation in Jharkhand were reviewed. External and internal injuries, patterns of anatomical involvement, and immediate causes of death were systematically documented and analyzed. Re...
