Time lost cost in cyber crime: IGI Airport case

The world cyber crime report that was released by the Anti-Virus major NORTON – listed two types of costs (that is the illegal money involved in cyber crime the world over) involved in cyber crime. One it referred to “Cash Cost” and the other as “Time Lost Cost”. The first one is easy to understand. It means the cash that the cyber criminals are actually stealing from the innocent citizens by means of a variety of cyber crimes. According to the NORTON report the total illegal money involved in Cyber Crime the world over is US$ 388 Billion. This is indeed an astronomical figure and is nearly 27 Lakh Crores in Indian Rupees. In this the total Cash Cost is US$ 114 Billion. The remaining US$ 274 Billion is the Time Lost Cost and this is what needs a detailed explanation and understanding. Simply stated, Time Lost Cost refers to the money lost as a result of the time lost when a computer system is down as a result of a virus or any other form of cyber attack. This is because time is money

Pakistan Faces Daunting Uphill Task of Deradicalizing Educated Youth

When Pakistani Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai returned to her home country after six years, she received a hero’s welcome: She met with Pakistan’s prime minister and delivered a nationally televised speech. But not everyone was happy with her return to Pakistan, the first time since a Taliban gunman shot her in the head in 2012. Posts on Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp seemed to reflect the Taliban’s view of Yousafzai. She was accused of being a CIA agent and of maligning Islam. Her opponents flooded social media with pictures and visuals showing students and teachers at a private school in Lahore chanting slogans, “I am not Malala” with anti-Malala placards in their hands. The protest was organized by a little-known organization called All Punjab Private Schools Association. "De Facto Good": Facebook Top Official Had Justified Bullying, Terrorism

Andrew Bosworth has acknowledged writing the message but said he intended only to start a debate. In a 2016 employee memo that was leaked this week, a Facebook executive defended the company's questionable data mining practices and championed the growth of social media at any cost - apparently even death. "Maybe it costs a life by exposing someone to bullies," company vice president Andrew Bosworth wrote in the memo, according to BuzzFeed News, which published it Thursday. "Maybe someone dies in a terrorist attack coordinated on our tools. And still we connect people. The ugly truth is that we believe in connecting people so deeply that anything that allows us to connect more people more often is *de facto* good." Bosworth, who oversaw Facebook's advertising and business platform at the time and is now in charge of the company's virtual reality department, has acknowledged writing the message but said he intended only to start a debate. Tehran Apologists Undermine PMOI/MEK & People of Iran's Fight for Freedom

28 March 2018 By INU Staff INU - Shahin Gobadi, the spokesman for the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran ( PMOI / MEK) , the main Iranian opposition, expressed his concern about the situation in Iran which is being exacerbated by apologists abroad. The Washington Post published an article written by Jason Rezaian on March 24th entitled “John Bolton wants regime change in Iran and so does the cult that paid him”. The article is badly written with numerous errors and deceitful tactics to influence readers. The author suggests, for example, that regime change in Iran will only happen if a foreign war is sparked. This assertation that regime change can only happen with war is ironic. The Iranian regime is the main instigator of the bloody war that is spreading across the region. Gobadi pointed out that the author omits to present some very telling information such as the recent protests in which the people of Iran took to the streets in more than 140 cities across the

Puntland Police on Alert as Somalia Terror Threat Moves North

A checkpoint in the desert of northern Somalia is the first line of defense against Al-Shabab and Islamic State from reaching the port city of Bossaso, the economic hub of the semi-autonomous Puntland state. The two extremist groups have set up camp in the mountains east and west of the city, and launch periodic attacks, including two assaults on the checkpoint last year. In daylight, armed police search every car heading in and out of the city, looking for weapons, explosives, and hidden militants. At dusk, they take up positions behind bunkers in case the extremists attack again. MEK's violent past looms over US lobby for regime change in Iran

Secretive Iranian opposition group finds new White House ally in John Bolton, but remains a 'pariah' back home. In 2012, the US State Department removed the MEK from its 'terror list'  On June 28, 1981, a huge explosion ripped through the headquarters of Iran's ruling Islamic Republic Party, killing at least 74 government officials, including the country's chief justice, Ayatollah Mohammed Beheshti and more than 20 parliament members, gathered that Sunday evening in southern Tehran. Iran blamed the attack on the  Mujahedeen-e-Khalq (MEK) , a left-wing political group, which also  killed Americans  before the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The suspect reportedly placed the bomb in a rubbish bin near where party leader Beheshti, 52, was addressing the group. The incident, one of the deadliest political killings in Iran's history, is still remembered as the Haft-e-Tir bombing, so named after the date when it took place on the Persian calendar. A busy sq
