‘Complete Elimination’: Iranian Drone, Missile Strikes Hit US Marines On Kuwait’s Bubiyan Island
Earlier on Friday, Kuwaiti authorities confirmed that the country's main commercial port was damaged in a drone attack.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it struck US Marine forces stationed on Kuwait’s Bubiyan Island, causing casualties among American troops as tensions continue to escalate in the Gulf.
In a video statement, Iranian military spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari said that Tehran carried out a combined drone and missile assault targeting US personnel, warning of what it described as a broader campaign to push American forces out of the region.
“Complete elimination of American soldiers from land of Muslims," he said.
The strike came as Iran intensifies retaliatory actions following the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel. US President Donald Trump has previously warned that more American casualties are likely as the confrontation deepens.
Meanwhile, earlier on Friday, Kuwaiti authorities confirmed that the country’s main commercial port was damaged in a drone attack.
The Shuwaikh port was targeted at dawn “by enemy drones; preliminary reports revealed material damage but no human casualties", the Kuwait port authority said in a post on X. A second site, the under-construction Mubarak al-Kabeer Port in the north, was also hit, according to the ministry of public works.
Kuwait has faced repeated strikes in recent weeks as Iran accuses Gulf states of supporting US and Israeli military operations. Earlier this month, a drone attack on a US logistics facility located within a civilian port killed six American soldiers.
Since the United States and Israel launched their war against Iran on February 28, Gulf countries have come under repeated missile and drone attack from the Islamic republic.
Several Gulf countries have voiced concern at the United Nations over Iranian strikes targeting energy facilities and civilian areas. Kuwait’s ambassador, Naser Abdullah H M Alhayen, warned that such attacks pose an “existential threat" to regional and global security and violate sovereignty and international law.
