TIME magazine cover shows the globalization of Hinduphobia

Image
This cover of TIME Magazine, with a saffron sash, displayed prominently around the neck of PM Modi, along with the ominous headline of “Divider in Chief”. Another step forward for the global liberal complex in stigmatizing Hindus as the “other” who are out to get everyone. - Advertisement - - Article resumes - Obviously, not very many Indians read TIME Magazine, nor the New York Times, Le Monde, the Guardian nor the Economist nor care about what they have to say. Even fewer make their voting decisions based on them. While this is inherently a good thing at least in the short term, it does carry a long term risk. We Hindus have our eyes closed while we are being viciously defamed across the world.  Sample this. Or this. It’s really not about Modi. It’s about Hindus. The global liberal complex has dedicated itself to projecting Hindus as regressive, violent and hateful people. The insane characterization of India as “Lynchistan” went beyond the pages of India’s

Bangladesh stops 84 Rohingya from perilous sea journey

Bangladesh authorities prevented 84 Rohingya refugees from Myanmar from attempting a perilous boat journey to Malaysia, officials said Saturday. Police in Pekua said 67 Rohingya Muslims from Kutupalong, the largest refugee settlement in the world, were stopped as they waited to board a fishing trawler. They included 31 women and 15 children. On Saint Martin's, a small Bangladesh island in the Bay of Bengal, the country's coast guard stopped 17 other Rohingya and five Bangladeshi traffickers before they could board a rickety fishing boat. Fayezul Islam Mondol, the regional coast guard commander, said they were acting on a tip-off. About 740,000 Muslim minority Rohingya have fled Myanmar for Bangladesh since a brutal military crackdown began in August 2017. They joined another 300,000 Rohingya already living in overcrowded camps in the Cox's Bazar area following previous bouts of violence. Thousands of refugees attempt to flee the camps each year

Can China drive the Afghan peace process?

The war in Afghanistan has wreaked more havoc than anyone could have imagined when it began over 18 years ago. Today, the country faces one of the biggest humanitarian crises ever witnessed, where the problem of displacement caused by constant fighting has been compounded by the conditions of severe drought. Persistent calls for peace have been drowned out by the sound of incessant fighting and endless bombings. The Taliban, the foremost perpetrator of insurgent violence in country, have gone from a movement opposing the depredations of Afghan warlords in the early 1990s, to ruling Afghanistan, to resurrecting as an insurgency to be reckoned with. Now they are now negotiating the future of Afghanistan with the United States, with no sign of Afghan government involvement in the process. Regardless, violence continues unabated, and in fact has intensified manifold since the announcement of the Taliban’s annual spring offensive earlier this year. At a time when the coali

Western Companies Get Tangled in China’s Muslim Clampdown

AKSU, China—Western companies, including brand name apparel makers and food companies, have become entangled in China’s campaign to forcibly assimilate its Muslim population. Adidas AG, Hennes & Mauritz AB, Kraft Heinz Co., Coca-Cola Co. and Gap Inc. are among those at the end of the long, often opaque supply chains that travel through China’s northwest region of Xinjiang. Residents there are routinely forced into training programs that feed workers to area factories, according to locals, official notices and state media Source: https://www.wsj.com/articles/western-companies-get-tangled-in-chinas-muslim-clampdown-11558017472

Bassam Khabieh / Reuters I f grisly images stay up on Facebook or YouTube long enough, self-appointed detectives around the world sometimes use them to reconstruct a crime scene. In July 2017, a video capturing the execution of 18 people appeared on Facebook. The clip opened with a half-dozen armed men presiding over several rows of detainees. Dressed in bright-orange jumpsuits and black hoods, the captives knelt in the gravel, hands tied behind their back. They never saw what was coming. The gunmen raised their weapons and fired, and the first row of victims crumpled to the earth. The executioners repeated this act four times, following the orders of

Plagued by separatism and terrorism, Somalia struggles to take advantage of its oil reserves

The petroleum industry's arrival on the Horn of Africa begs the important question of whether fossil fuels can bring Somalis across the political spectrum together or pull them further apart. Peace in Somalia seems as elusive as ever. The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and the Somali National Armed Forces continue to battle insurgents throughout the East African country as American warplanes launch airstrikes against the likes of al-Shabaab and the Islamic State  group  [IS]. All the while, separatists in Somaliland threaten to tear Somalia in two. Amid all these examples of division, the petroleum industry's arrival on the Horn of Africa begs the important question of whether fossil fuels can bring Somalis across the political spectrum together or will just pull them even further apart. The Somali government announced in February that it would start awarding foreigners licenses for hydrocarbon explorati

Hinduphobia is real, and WE needs to act now

In less than 24 hours, three seemingly unrelated events happened: a) The Print wrote a condescending article on Hindu statues b) Twitter , once again, blocked a pro-right account @TrueIndology c) I met a girl who was "center of left" but didn't know what it means. If we look closely, they all have a common thread - wannabe liberals don't know basics; smart liberals suffer from Hinduphobia. And, former refers to latter for everything. As a result, young Indians detest Hinduism and it is on PM Modi.
