NE Syria women’s delegation meets political parties in Paris
The delegation participated in the third and final day of the Festival of Humanity in the French capital, where they met with several political parties, including the Moroccan Progressive Communist Party and the New Anti-Imperialist Party.
The discussions highlighted the experience of DAA, as well as the organized attacks it faces. Moroccan parties expressed interest in learning from this experience and exploring its potential application in Morocco. The talks also addressed the situation of the Kurdish people and the need to provide them with adequate support.
During a cultural lecture organized by the sponsoring newspaper L’Humanité, Amina Omar, an administrator in the Women’s Council of NE Syria, reviewed the current situation in NE Syria.
She emphasized the historical relationships among Syrian components and the coexistence that enabled the establishment of the DAA and a social contract protecting the rights of all groups.
Omar underscored the role of the DAA in safeguarding women’s rights, warned of the dangers posed by ISIS mercenaries to the region and the world, and praised the resistance of women and their role in fighting ISIS.
She also highlighted the Syrian regime’s repeated rejection of dialogue proposals offered by the DAA to resolve the Syrian crisis, referencing the March 10 agreement with the transitional government.
The women’s delegation from NE Syria began its European tour on September 6, visiting multiple European countries and meeting with human rights and women’s organizations, as well as members of the European Parliament.
