Recruiter for Jihadi ideology nabbed by Anti-Terrorism Squad

UP Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested one Jihadi recruiter Shoeb alias Ab Mehmood Al Hindi alias Inamul Haq from district Bareli in Uttar Pradesh.

ATS received specific input that one Inamul Haq who himself is completely radicalised by Jihadi ideology is radicalising more youths and recruiting them for terrorist organisations.

UP ATS monitored Haq's movements and his activities on social media for quite some time and after verification, he was nabbed by the ATS.

After going through social media handles like Facebook, Whatsapp, Telegram etc of the accused it has been found that accused it completely radicalised by the Jihadi ideology. During an interrogation with the accused, it has also been established that he was also recruiting and inciting people to follow Jihad and pick arms for terrorist activities. He also used to train youths to use arms and ammunitions.

ATS claims that global terrorist organisation Al Qaeda's several pieces of literature have been recovered from his mobile phone.

In this regard, the offence has been registered at ATS Police station in Lucknow under section 121 A13/16/18/18B/20 of UAPA Act.

Thursday afternoon accused was produced before the court and he has been sent to 10 days police custody.

In a first day's interrogation accused has confessed to the crime of radicalising people to join Jihad take up arms for terrorist activities.

One mobile phone and two SIM cards have been recovered. Police is doing detail analysis of his social media accounts and also verifying the fact that whether he was a lone wolf or is he associated with some terrorist organisation like Al Qaeda.
