Refugee arrested as Tiger bomber
A TAMIL Sri Lankan man granted asylum in Australia more than three years ago has been arrested in Malaysia along with three others on suspicion of trying to revive the rebel Tamil Tiger movement and is expected to be deported to Sri Lanka.
Sornalingam Puvaneswaran, also known as Eesan, fled Sri Lanka in early 2009 during the last bloody months of the civil war and was granted permanent residency after being assessed by Australian immigration authorities to have a genuine fear of persecution if returned to Sri Lanka.
