Manipur :bomb lobbed at the gate of EE's residence.

Imphal, June 28 2013 : Unidentified miscreants exploded a bomb at the residence of Executive Engineer of PHED, Imphal East Division Nongthombam Bipin located at Khagempalli Mathak yesterday around 7 pm.

Meanwhile, womenfolk of the localities staged a sit in today to register protest against the explosion of bomb in civilian area.

The protesters also demanded the concerned group/individuals to clarify the motive of the attack at the earliest.

Sources said the bomb was lobbed near the gate of the EE's residence.

The explosion caused damages to the fencing of the house, part of the gate.

The house of the immediate neighbour belonging to one Thokchom Sarat was also damaged.

No human casualty has been reported though.

Protesters today displayed placards reading 'Don't repeat attack on civilian area,' 'we want peace,' 'clarify immediately,' etc during the sit in protest.

At the same time, the Youth Organisation, Khagempalli, in a statement, strongly condemned the bomb attack at the residence of N Bipin while urging all concerned to restrain from launching such attacks in future.
