Turkey returns fire after Syrian shell strikes near border

Turkish artillery has fired at targets inside Syria in response to a Syrian shell striking a forest in Turkey’s Khatay region. No casualties have been reported.
It’s not known whether the Syrian missile was fired by armed rebels or regime troops, fighting close to the Turkish-Syrian border.

A Syrian shell killed five Turks in October 2012, prompting Turkey to strike back.
