10 suspected Taliban reported killed during separate actions


KABUL (AIP): Afghan and foreign troops killed 10 suspected Taliban during operations conducted in different regions of the country, interior ministry said Friday (April 27), a claim rejected by Taliban as false. Fourteen Taliban were also captured and another wounded during the operations conducted throughout the past 24 hours in Helmand, Wardak and Khost province, the interior ministry said in a statement. It said the combined force also recovered nine Ak-47 rifles, a heavy machine gun, four landmines, seven hand grenades, 20 kg of explosive materials, two suicide vests and a motorcycle. Taliban rejected the interior ministry claim and said they did not suffer any worth mentioning damage in these provinces. “Contrary to this, Taliban caused casualties to a large number of combined troops and destroyed several vehicles during 28 attacks mounted against Afghan and foreign troops over the past 24 hours in Badghis, Zabul, Kandahar, Logar, Laghman, Ghazni, Wardak, Kunar, Paktia, Khost, Samangan, Kapisa and Badakhshan province,” Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for Taliban, told Afghan Islamic Press.
