88% increase in the number of 2011 cyber crime reports

Kosmo! reported that there was an 88% increase in the number of cyber crime reports last year, with 15,281 cases last year.

The highest number of cases 5,328 involved cheating, followed by 3,751 cases of spam and 3,699 cases of hacking.

Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili said all complaints were channelled to the Cyber999 assistance centre.
