MV Iceberg sailors' families still waiting

Iceberg sailor Dhiraj's mother Kanti Devi Tiwari said, "We are very happy these sailors returned home. They are like our children too. I hope we will get help to bring back our son."
Kanti Devi and her husband Purushottam Tiwari have been waiting for good news about their son Dhiraj captured by Somali pirates from the MV Iceberg 1 in March 2010. They pray that a messiah will save their son too.
Dhiraj's father Purushottam Tiwari said, "Pakistan has done so much for the sailors. It's so sad that in India, not a single politician or trustee has come forward to help us."
The visuals of sailors from the MV Suez greeting their families has certainly given the families of other captive sailors some hope that they may see their sons too some time soon, but there is still a lot of anger and helplessness and each day for them is like living in hell.
Describing her daily struggle, sailor Ganesh's mother Pushplata Mohite said, "We can't sleep at night, can't sleep in the day, food doesn't taste good, every morning we wonder why are we alive. When we can't help our own son, what is the point of living?"
Life for Ganesh's family has come to a standstill. His brother Mangesh, who just passed his school said he will only celebrate once he sees Ganesh.
The pirates have been demanding $ 2.5 million to free Iceberg 1 and until that can be arranged, Mangesh derives strength from Ganesh's brave words to him, "You don't worry about me, I'm fine and happy. You take tension for your studies and our family."

families of the six MV Suez sailors celebrated on Friday on their
return, 39 other families have been waiting for news of their loved
ones, who are still in captivity of Somali pirates.
Two families watching the homecoming of sailors from the MV Suez hoped such a happy day dawns for them too.
