Terror syndrome and Af-pak

The article THE WAR WITHIN from NDTV is worth a read:

Pakistan has been battling internal strife for a while now, there have been a series of attacks on important symbols within the country. The latest being that on the Sufi shrine in the heart of Lahore.

The Religious places, the military establishments and everything thatcan be named are being targeted. Now what is dangerous is this has become a daily affair and not worth a special thing.

From Khaleej times
The suicide bombing that killed more than 45 devotees at an ancient shrine in Lahore is just an addition to a long list of such incidents. Punjab, the new theatre for pro-Taleban activists, has become lawless to the core, leaving the authorities concerned in a guessing world of their own. Unfortunately, the government, which doesn’t believe in a break from harping the mantra of war against terrorism — indeed to serve its existential requirements, is wayward and clueless as terrorists go on rampage with impunity.

They cannot coexist, and it is high time such elements are shunned from the national fabric. Finger-pointing elsewhere and learning to rely on conspiracy theories won’t work. Such theories of self-preservation were an excuse of the past, and cannot be forced upon a traumatised nation anymore. The stark reality is that the enemy is within, wanting to be exposed and taken to task. There is no point in taking the nation for a ride by citing real politick reasons for inaction. Pakistanis definitely deserve a better deal.
So The pakistani press adn intelligensia are awarew of the shortcommings of using the Terror as a Foreign policy so let us hope there would be some change in real on the ground terms.
