Iraq - Arab and International Condemnation of the Bloody Bombings in Baghdad

Many countries of the world condemned the bombings which occurred in Baghdad on Thursday which killed about (112) and wounded more than (500) people in not a final outcome of for series of explosions by car bombs targeted separate locations around the Capital after two days of the agreement of political blocs and Parliament in legislating law organizes the second legislative elections in the country since the collapse of former regime in spring 2003.

Arab League strongly condemned terrorist bombings that took place in the Heart of Baghdad and expressed in press statement its solidarity with “brotherly” Iraq in facing these terrorist actions which targets innocent people and aims to destabilize security and stability in Iraq in a period that Iraqis and political forces are preparing to organize legislative elections.

For its part the Organization of Islamic Conference condemned recent bombings, and the Secretary General of the Organization Mr. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, wishing the injured recovery.

European Union condemned the bloody bombings hit Baghdad, a statement of the presidency of the Union stressed that these bombings aim to destabilize democracy and stability in Iraq.

United Nations Secretary General Pan Ki moon expressed Thursday bombings as terrible by saying “I strongly condemn these bombings but also strongly condemn violence,” for his part UN Security Council in its session on Thursday 8th. Dec.2009 condemned in strongly terms terrorist attacks in Baghdad as members of the Council expressed their condolences to the families of the martyrs.

NATO’s Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen condemned the bombings, said in a statement issued on behalf of NATO, “We strongly condemn the bombings that have no reason”

Egyptian Foreign Ministry described in a statement that Thursday bloody bombings as terrorist and criminal and expressed its solidarity with people and Government of Iraq and added that the perpetrators of these acts don’t want best for Iraq and Iraqis should stand together to combat terrorism .

Germany condemned bloody Thursday bombings that German Foreign Minister Mr. Pfister Welle said that these bombings are contrary to humanitarian expressing his sympathy to the families of the victims.

For his part Italian Foreign Minister Mr. Franco Fratini described the bombings which took place in Baghdad and caused tens of victims as barbaric act.

Fratini said in a telegram of condolences sent to his Iraqi counterpart Hoshyar Zebari “ the bombings in Baghdad are barbaric aim to undermine the efforts of the Government and People of Iraq in order to strengthen state’s institutions , stability and democracy” .

For his part, White House strongly condemned attacks that took place in Iraq, According to a White House Spokesman, Robert Gibbs.

For its part, Iran strongly condemned terrorist bombing in Baghdad by Iranian Foreign Minister Manochher Muttaki during a phone call with His Iraqi counterpart Hoshyar Zebari expressing his condolences to the Government and People of Iraq.

Muttakki announced that such criminal and terrorist actions occurred in a time which Iraq on the eve of parliamentary elections which is an important step in the process of consolidation of State – building in this country and this is an evidence of the hostility of terrorists against the people of Baghdad.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev condemned In a letter of condolences to his counterpart President Jalal Talabani on Thursday the attacks which caused hundreds of dead and wounded in Iraq describing it as “barbaric.”

according to Kremlin statement President Medvedev said “ I am strongly upset for this barbaric crimes which caused the killing of more than ( 100 ) and about (500 ) wounded ” added “ I am sure that what those criminals are doing they will not be able to stop political process in your country on the way of development and democracy ” .

For its part, Syria strongly condemned bombings in Baghdad describing it as terrorist expressing its grief for the big losses that Iraqi people suffered as an official source at the Syrian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Syria strongly condemned terrorist bombings which took place on Thursday morning which killed large number of innocent Iraqis.

Briton condemned suicide bombings in Baghdad stressing that these attacks will not stop the progress in Iraq.

British Government’s Spokesman said “we strongly condemn these attacks and we offer our condolences to the families of those who killed or wounded” and added the Spokesman “even if these challenges remain, there is a real progress in Iraq in the areas of security, economy, politics in recent months and we will keep working closely with the Iraqi Government to follow up the progress.

For his part Jordan’s King Abdullah II condemned recent terrorist bombings took place in Baghdad stressing the solidarity of the Kingdom with Iraq to combat terrorism in its all forms.

According to a statement issued by Jordanian Royal Court , that King Abdullah II sent a telegraph of condolences to the Iraqi President Jalal Talabani condemned terrorist bombings which took place in different places in Baghdad .

King Abdullah II stressed Jordan’s stand and solidarity with brotherly Iraq in combating terrorism in its all forms.

French President Nicolas Sarkuzy strongly condemned series of bomb attacks that took place in Baghdad calling for those responsible for the blast to Justice.

President Sarkuzy pointed in a statement issued by Elysee Palace that France condemns these terrorist acts and calls for to shed light on the roots of such despicable acts .

Spanish Government condemned brutal terrorist attacks which caused large number of dead and wounded were residents of the Capital Baghdad , pointing that these attacks will not achieve its goals to change the course of the country towards the normalization of the function of the institutions and restoration of full sovereignty .

Canadian Foreign Minister Mr. Laurence Canon issued a statement condemned terrorist bombings pointing that Canada is outraged by the series of suicide attacks that aim to weaken the efforts of Iraqi People in securing peace .

Turkish Foreign Ministry condemned in a statement condemns the crime of bloody Thursday that Turkish Government condemns strongly this terrorist act targets stability and democracy that concedes with elections early next year.

Stressing that Turkey will continue its support to the Iraqi people in combating terrorism and prevent it from achieving its goals in creating chaos and instability.

Mexican Foreign Ministry condemned terrorist act and expressed its deepest sorrow and condolences to the families of the victims and the Government and People of Iraq.
