Al-Megrahi sympathetic for Lockerbie victims - 21 Aug 09



Abdel Basset al-Megrahi, convicted of the 1988 Pan Am Flight 103 bombing over Lockerbie, Scotland, has expressed sympathy for the victims' families but maintains he is innocent of the crime.

Tony Kelly, his lawyer, read a statement by the Libyan who is dying from prostate cancer, after he was released on compassionate grounds.
