PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AFP)--A car bomb exploded at a police checkpoint in northwestern Pakistan on Wednesday, injuring an unspecified number of police officers, police said.
The blast occurred in the Charsadda district, about 21 miles north of Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan's North-West Frontier Province, which borders Afghanistan.
"An explosive-filled car has exploded near a checkpost. I have received reports that some policemen are injured and rushing to the site," district police chief Riaz Khan told AFP.
