18 Policemen Injured During Student Protests in Chile

18 police officers were injured, while 140 people were arrested during the recent protests by students in Santiago, Chile. The students demanded better education standards.

According to the Chilean law enforcement agencies, 8,000 college and school students took part in simultaneous unauthorized protests in the city’s various districts. To break up the protests, police used tear gas and water cannons, while protesters responded by throwing rocks.

Three police officers are said to have been gravely injured.
