Supporters of ex-prez riot in Maldives, held

Former Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed's supporters clashed with the security forces during a rally to protest his ouster leading to the arrest of over 100.
The protesters threw pavement cement blocks, glass marble pebbles and water mixed with chillies at security forces on Thursday.
The Maldivian Democratic Party members vowed that they would go on with these protests until the government of Mohamed Waheed was removed from power  and presidential election was declared.
MDP Spokesperson Imthiyaz  Fahmy said MDP was going to withdraw Nasheed's statement regarding the former President Maumoon, alleging that he was behind the coup.
Nasheed who had resigned on February 7 was replaced by his then Vice President Waheed.
