Somali pirates enter plea agreement

In Federal Court they admitted to performing illegal acts of violence with the intent to rob while out to sea.
The charge is related to the hijacking of the American yacht "The Quest" where four Americans on board were murdered.
In court documents one of the pirates Ali Abdi Mohamed admitted to firing a bazooka at one of the navy vessels.
Three ships based out of Hampton Roads the USS Leyte Gulf ,USS Enterprise and USS Bulkeley were part of the rescue mission.
Another pirate Mohamud salad Ali told the FBI he was the negotiator. He was the one responsible for getting the ransom for the Americans.
A third pirate Mohamud Hirs Issa Ali claimed to be the commander of the pirate vessel. He told the judge they hijacked the boat with "The intention to make money, but never to kill".
He was overthrown if you will as the leader from others who had more extreme ideas took over.
Alis lawyer says just like the other men Ali is hopeful cooperating with the US Attorneys Office will help him when it comes to sentencing.
His hope is one day he will be able to return to Somalia to his wives and children.
