Shooting in Davie, Florida: Police Respond to 'Active Shooter' Reports on South University Drive Near Aveda Institute

 Davie Police confirmed that officers had responded to a shooting in the area but said they were not searching for any suspects.

A large police presence was deployed in Davie, Florida, on Tuesday afternoon following reports of a shooting, police have said. Officers were seen near the 4100 block of South University Drive, outside the Aveda Institute, a cosmetology school, and the adjacent Know-It-All Preparatory School.

Davie Police confirmed that officers had responded to a shooting in the area but said they were not searching for any suspects.

As a precaution, St David Catholic School, located nearby, was placed on lockdown.
