PM Modi's J&K visit: I'm here with message of development, says PM after launching projects worth Rs 20,000 cr in Jammu

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Palli Panchayat in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir to participate in the celebration of National Panchayati Raj Day. Here in Jammu, he will address all the Gram Sabhas across the country. During the visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development initiatives worth around Rs 20,000 crore. He will also inaugurate the Banihal Qazigund Road Tunnel, built at a cost of over Rs 3100 crore. This is his first visit to Jammu and Kashmir after the repeal of special status to J&K under Article 370.

PM Modi in Jammu: Now the distance of Jammu and Srinagar from Banihal Kanjigund Tunnel has reduced by 2 hours. The country is also going to get an attractive arch bridge linking Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla soon. The Delhi-Amritsar-Katra highway is also going to reduce the distance from Delhi to the court of Maa Vaishno Devi.

PM Modi says when he talks about 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat', his focus is on connectivity and bridging distances. "Our aim is to provide all-weather connectivity to J&K," he adds. He further adds that a new story of development is being written in Jammu and Kashmir as many private investors are interested to come to the Union Territory
