Now, where is UNHRC? Pakistan mob lynches Lankan over 'blasphemy'
The video of the horrific incident, showing gruesome visuals of the crime, has gone viral on social media sites. In that video, the mob can be heard chanting "Nara e Taqbeer", "Kaafir ke bachche ne Quran ki aayatein dustbin mein fainki hain " and "Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah".
According to the reports, the man tore the hardline Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) on which Quranic verses were inscribed and threw it in the dustbin. A poster of the Islamist party was pasted on the wall adjoining the office of Kumara. A couple of factory workers saw him removing the poster and spreading the word in the factor. Some workers took to Facebook to spread the news on social media sites.
Following being enraged over the "blasphemy" incident, hundreds of men, including the activists and supporters of the TLP, gathered outside the factory from adjoining areas. The fanatic Islamist mob dragged the suspect (the Sri Lankan national) from the factory and severely tortured him. They burnt his body after killing him.
More shockingly, the killers of a Sri Lankan man boasted with pride about how they burnt him alive on suspicion of blasphemy. They show no fear of the consequences of their heinous crime.
Late on Friday evening, Punjab Police said they had arrested 100 suspects, after identifying them through video footage. "We have arrested 100 suspects allegedly involved in the lynching of a Sri Lankan national on terrorism and other charges," Inspector General of Police (Punjab) Rao Sardar Ali Khan said in a statement.
"More arrests are being made and those involved in this gory incident will not be spared, " he declared.
Reacting to this, Prime Minister Imran Khan said in a tweet, "The horrific vigilante attack on a factory in Sialkot & the burning alive of a Sri Lankan manager is a day of shame for Pakistan. I am overseeing the investigations & let there be no mistake, all those responsible will be punished with the full severity of the law. Arrests are in progress.
