Watch: Elon Musk praises China, gets slammed by human rights activists

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk sparked a fresh controversy in the online world on July 1. As China celebrated the centenary of its ruling Communist Party, Musk tweeted praises for the Asian country.

He said that the economic prosperity achieved by China is 'truly amazing', and everyone should visit the country to witness the same. Subsequently, he was countered by a human rights activist, Alex Gladstein, who cited repression in Xinjiang, Tibet, and Hong Kong by the same Chinese government. China is an important market for Musk's electric car company Tesla.
