Hardcore Woman Maoist Killed In Encounter On Odisha-Chhattisgarh Border: Left wing extremism

Malkangiri: A hardcore woman Maoist, carrying a reward of Rs 2 lakh on her head, was gunned down by the security forces on Odisha-Chhattisgarh border today.

The deceased has been identified as YK Pokko, a resident of Bhairamgarh of Bijapur district. She was active as a member of the PLGA (People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army) platoon no.16.

According to reports, an intelligence-based operation was launched in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh district. Soon a gunfight ensued between Maoists and security forces. In retaliation, the security personnel gunned down Maoists.

A huge cache of guns, live bullets and Maoist articles were recovered from the spot.
