Anti-terrorism hui with high profile speakers coming to Christchurch next week
New Zealand’s first annual hui on countering terrorism and violent extremism, He Whenua Taurikura, will be held in Christchurch next week.
Some of the most powerful and influential people in New Zealand will speak at the event, including Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, director-general of security Rebecca Kitteridge, police commissioner Andrew Coster, and Anjum Rahman of the Islamic Women's Council.
Ardern will give an opening address on Wednesday, while Christchurch mayor Lianne Dalziel will speak at the welcome reception on Monday.
