USCIRF infiltrated by Islamist fronts linked to Jamaat-e-Islami, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul: Report
USCIRF, a bipartisan U.S. federal government commission calls itself "independent" but has been infiltrated by Islamist fronts with direct links to Pakistan.
New Delhi: USCIRF, which calls itself an independent, bipartisan U.S. federal government commission created by the 1998 International Religious Freedom Act (IRFA) to monitor the universal right to freedom of religion or belief abroad, has been infiltrated by Islamist fronts with links to Jamaat-e-Islami, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
The USCIRF on Wednesday asked the Biden Administration to designate four nations, including India, as “countries of particular concern”, alleging that religious freedom conditions there in 2020 continued their negative trajectory.
This report, if accepted by the US government, can result in economic sanctions on India.
Same group was pushing Islamophobia, fascism narrative in India in 2020
According to a report by DisInfo Lab, the report is a result of a planned lobbying effort to influence USCIRF by the US Islamic Circle of North America and its fronts like the Islamic Circle Of North America (ICNA).
The same group was behind pushing the Islamophobia and fascism narrative in India in 2020 which was actually being run through Inter-Services Public Relations, the media, and the public relations wing of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
“The Nexus operates behind a labyrinth of Fronts, all with lofty names and loftier motives, but behind each of these fronts, there are the same set of people operating, and behind all this facade, the objective is one – targeting India’s image,” DisInfo Lab said in its report.
The ICNA fronts operate in various names like Justice for All, Save India, and Free Kashmir to hide their affiliations but are run by the same set of people.
These Fronts collect Zakat in the name of Rohingyas and Uyghurs and use the money to lobby against India.
Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC) managed to influence the USCIRF through Commissioner Nadine Maenza, with the help of US lobbying firm Fidelis Government Relations (FGR).
USCIRF, George Soros-backed Open Society Foundations & Pakistan
Apart from USCIRF Commissioner Nadine Maenza, many important functionaries have been associated with IAMC, which includes USCIRF Vice Chair Anurima Bhargava and USCIRF Political Analyst John Harrison Akins.
Bhargava is also a member of Open Society Foundations promoted by billionaire philanthropist George Soros while Akins is close to many top-ranking Pakistani officials and diplomats.
In one of his Twitter posts, he had called Akbar Ahmad, former Pakistani diplomat, his mentor.
Due to relentless lobbying by these groups, USCIRF changed India’s map, removing J&K, Ladakh, and Arunanchal from India in its 2014 report.
India has regularly rejected the USCIRF report and its representatives have not been allowed to visit India due to its biased nature of the report.
The group also deploys fake handles for the amplification of USCIR.
According to DisInfo Lab, 1748 fake handles were created last year between January and April.
