Encounter breaks out in South Kashmir’s Anantnag

A gunfight broke out between terrorists and security forces in Shalgul forest in South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Wednesday.

As per initial reports, a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army's 3RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Shalgul forest on Wednesday morning.

Kashmir encounter As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight. "Encounter started at Shalgul forest area of Srigufwara in Anantnag. Security forces are on the job," said a police official.

As per sources, two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped.
