Gun Violence : Woman in hospital after shooting in Châteauguay

Quebec provincial police are investigating a late-night shooting on the South Shore that left a woman in hospital.

The woman, in her 20s, was listed in stable condition after being shot on Marc Laplante St. in Châteauguay around 11:15 p.m. Monday, a Sûreté du Québec spokesman said Tuesday.

Her life is not thought to be in danger.

Investigators from the SQ’s major crimes unit interviewed two key witnesses but no arrests have been made.

The shooting took place after an altercation broke out among unidentified individuals, the SQ said. Three cars were damaged during the dispute.
