Maduro orders to reinforce security due to violent plans in Venezuela

Caracas, Apr 8 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Tuesday ordered the National Bolivarian Armed Force (FANB) and other security agencies to reinforce patrols, protection and intelligence in light of possible actions by violent groups.

In statements broadcast by Venezolana de Television, the president denounced the assassination of Bolivarian Army Lieutenant Colonel Leon Ernesto Solis and Sergeant Gustavo Manuel Flores in the town of Tumeremo, in eastern Bolivar state.

Maduro attributed the crime to 'mafia groups' that operate in conjunction with extreme right-wing sectors linked to aggressive plans against civil and military objectives in the country.

'I have ordered to increase police and military patrols, and by the National Bolivarian Militia throughout Venezuela; extreme protection measures, patrols, intelligence and security by all military units and chiefs in the country,' the head of State underlined.

Maduro noted that terrorist groups associated to radical sectors of the opposition are behind the recent sabotages on facilities of the National Electoral Council and the state-owned Compañia Anonima Nacional Telefonos de Venezuela (Cantv) in the states of Miranda and Carabobo.
