Hamas Hackers Attempt To Steal Information From Israeli Soldiers Using Infected Dating Apps

On February 17, 2020, an article in the Deccan Herald reported that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) revealed that Hamas hackers had tried to catfish Israeli soldiers in order to install malware on their phones in order to steal information from them. According to the report, the hackers posed on social media platforms and chat applications as attractive women in an effort to gain the trust of the soldiers. The hackers then tried getting the soldiers to download infected dating applications such as GrixyApp, ZatuApp, and Catch&See, which are laced with viruses, onto their cellphones.
