UN chief ignores Pakistan sponsored terrorism in JK; advices investigation

New York, April 3: Pakistan is well-known across the world for harbouring terrorism but several International communities including United Nations gently ignore this. Notably, United Nations chief Antonio Guterres has shown his concern over the killing of civilians in Jammu and Kashmir ignoring Pakistan sponsored terrorism.
The United Nations Chief Antonio Guterres so-called concern came two days after Indian Army neutralized 13 terrorists in three encounters at Anantnag and Shopian districts of South Kashmir. During the encounter, three army personnel were martyred while two civilians were killed.
Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for the UN Secretary-General at his daily press briefing on Monday said that the UN chief Antonio Guterres is very concerned over the situation in Jammu and Kashmir and wants all member states to protect their civilians.
He said, "The Secretary-General is, indeed, very concerned about the situation that we've seen in Jammu and Kashmir.” “The UN chief also reminded that the Member States are responsible under the international humanitarian law to protect civilians," he added.
Stephane Dujarric said the Secretary-General reiterated his call on nations to find ways to address disputes in a peaceful manner. He added that civilians need to be protected wherever they are, "whether it's in Gaza, whether it's in Jammu and Kashmir, or whether it's in Yemen. It's a basic principle of this organization."
During the press briefing when Stephane was asked if the Secretary-General is calling for an investigation into the matter, he said "any loss of civilians needs to be investigated wherever they occur".
The Indian Army eliminated 13 terrorists in three encounters at Anantnag and Shopian districts of South Kashmir on Sunday. Among those killed also include top terror commanders.
