Bangladesh: Police arrests 7 members of JMB from Chapainawabganj, seize 22 jihadi books
The police arrested seven members of the terror organisation Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Chapainawabganj in the last three days and seized 22 jihadi books from them.
The police in Bangladesh have arrested seven members of the banned militant organisation Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen of Bangaldesh(JMB) from Chapainawabganj district in the last three days.
Addressing a press conference today, the Chapainawabganj Police super MM Mozahidul Islam said, "The police recovered 22 kilograms of power gel, 22 jihadi books and detained seven JMB members from different parts of the district."
The accused have been identified as Harun-Or-Rashid (25), Kamal Uddin(32), from Guthail village under Nachole upzila, Nasim Reza Sahin(20), of Barachaki village, Firoz (22) of Srirampur village, Babu (22) of Kaithapara village under Shibganj upazila, Azizul Haque (38) of Raghbpur village and Abdul Hakim (20) of village Debinagar Fatapara under sadar upazila.
Mojahidul added that the seven accused will be charged under the anti-terrorism law.
On Thursday, five militants and a firefighter were killed in suicide blasts during a security raid on a suspected militant hideout in Bangladesh's Rajshahi district. A family of five blew themselves up in the Godgari hideout when they learned about a raid.
OTHER OPERATIONS
On April 26 and 27, four militants were killed in Operation Eagle Hunt at a militant den in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district.
In March, 26 people, including women and children, were killed in a militant hideout raid at seven houses of Chittagong and Sylhet areas.
Large amount of explosives were also recently recovered from a house in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila.
