'Dancing with the Stars' Colombia to Feature Former FARC Guerilla GroupMember Ana Pacheco, Model Natalia Paris & More

Dancing With The Stars: Live! Tour

"Dancing with the Stars" goes global, landing in Colombia where the show is slated to show some of the country's most well-known celebrities on the dance floor. The show, called locally "Bailando con las Estrellas", will air live daily in the primetime slot.
According to a report from Variety, "Dancing with the Stars" in Colombia will feature big names such as famous model Natalia Paris, actresses Flora Martinez and Endry Cardeño, former FARC guerrilla group member Ana Pacheco and one of FARC's former hostages Jhon Frank Pinchao.
Other celebrities who are slated to be part of the pilot season of the successful television series are singers Mike Bahia and Galy Galiano, Real Madrid soccer player James Rodriguez's wife Daniela Ospina, gold medalist high diver Orlando Duque, and fashion designer Hernán Zajar.
Anna Gordon, executive VP and managing director of BBC Worldwide Latin America/U.S. Hispanic, explained that venturing in a new country will bring in a new set of DWTS enthusiasts.
"Few dance formats have attained the audience levels or popularity that have made 'Dancing with the Stars' a classic in this genre at the global level," Gordon said. "We are confident that RCN Colombia's 'Bailando con las Estrellas' will gain the series new fans in this rapidly growing market."
Hosted by Patrick Delmas and Taliana Vargas, the new show will feature 15 couples in total who will dance in a series of 55 one-hour episodes. It's a whole lot of dancing that Colombia can enjoy every day. The judges will also be a huge draw with the audiences as they consist of dancer, choreographer and creator of Zumba Beto Pérez, Fernando Montaño of the Royal Ballet and 10-year world ballroom dancing champion Nina Shablinskaja.
The audience will be able to chime in with their opinions at the show's official website, which will factor in with the judges' scores for the contestants' standings.
Although the competition will be tough among a new pool of candidates from the different entertainment industries in the country, Ospina is confident saying she wouldn't be afraid of grooving to a variety of Latin beats.
"I would feel perfectly at ease dancing salsa...anything that's merengue, reggaeton...I think that as a Latina, as a Colombian, they suit me super good," Ospina told RCN in a report from Fox News.
The show will air on Tuesdays, 8 p.m. at RCN Colombia, who licensed "Dancing with the Stars" from BBC Worldwide. Fox Telecolombia will be producing the show.
