Day After Sunadhar's Death, Maoists Kill Man in Revenge Attack

MALKANGIRI:A day after the killing of top Maoist leader Sunadhar and two of his associates in an exchange of fire by the security forces in Malkangiri’s Bhejaguda forests, the red rebels on Sunday gunned down a villager of Sagriguda under Mathili police limits suspecting him to be a police informer.
The body of the villager, identified as Trinath Madhi, was found in a pool of blood on the outskirts of the village. Sources said about 20 armed Maoists reached Tembrupalli village around midnight and dragged Madhi from his house at gun-point to a nearby forest. They reportedly held a summary trial in the people’s court before killing him.
Police suspect Madhi’s murder was in retaliation to Saturday’s attack by the security forces in which top Maoists were killed. Meanwhile, combing operation has been intensified on Malkangiri-Chhattisgarh border to avert influx of Maoists into the district from the neighbouring State.
