Manipur ambush: NIA arrests top leader of NSCN(K)
Ina major breakthrough, the NIA on Monday arrested top leader of NSCN(K) allegedly involved in the conspiracy behind the June 4 killing of 18 Army personnel in Manipur on the Indo-Myanmar border.
Khumlo Abi Anal, NSCN(K) regional commander, was arrested from Chandel district of Manipur.
Over 600 people, including security forces personnel, have been killed in militant attacks and insurgencies in the north-eastern states of the country in last four years, an RTI query has revealed.
According to an RTI reply by the Union Home Ministry, 614 people lost their lives, including 105 security personnel, in 3,493 militant attacks and extremist groups’ violence.
