Parrikar justifies 'terrorist' remark, cites misinterpretation
New Delhi, May 26 (ANI): Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday justified his 'terrorists have to be neutralised only through terrorists' remark and said that it has been misinterpreted for he was speaking in a different context.
"You need to look at the context in which the statement was made. What was asked before it and after that. If you go through the entire footage, you will find that I said nothing wrong. If you run just a part of the footage, people will have their own interpretations," Parrikar said in an exclusive interview with ANI.
Parrikar's remark had earlier sparked a controversy with Islamabad stating that the Indian Defence Minister's statement was a blatant admission of sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan.
Speaking at a conclave last week, Parrikar had said that any country planning and plotting terror attacks against India will be dealt with 'pro-actively'. (ANI)
