2 NPA Medics surrender

TWO medical officers of the New People’s Army (NPA) have surrendered to the military in the province of Davao del Norte, an official said Monday.
Lieutenant Colonel Eduardo Gubat, Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom) spokesman, identified the two as Jayson Danila, alias "Ka Reynan," and Rhea Rose Tongcopanon, alias "Ka Myca."
Gubat said they surrendered to the Army’s 60th Infantry Battalion around 8 a.m. Saturday in the village of Doña Andrea, Asuncion, Davao del Norte.
He said that Danila was recruited into the NPA at the age of 15 after he finished second year high school in Mabini, Compostela Valley province in 2010.
Tongcopanon, on the other hand, was recruited after she completed her high school education in 2014 in Patukan in the same province.
The duo decided to surrender since they want to live their normal lives, said Gubat.
He added that 65 NPA members have so far surrendered to Eastmincom since January 2015
