Alleged NPA leader nabbed at Negros Occidental checkpoint

A suspected leader of the communist New People's Army in Negros Occidental was arrested at a checkpoint operation in San Carlos City in the province Friday night, state-run Philippines News Agency reported Saturday.

The PNA quoted the military as saying Rogelio Posadas was caught at 10 p.m. Friday along the highway near Hacienda Socorro in Barangay Punao in San Carlos City.

Posadas is believed to be the secretary of the North Negros Front, Kometing Rehiyonal-Negros (NNF, KR-N) and National Democratic Front-Negros spokesman.
