Private schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa get arms permit

Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Tuesday decided to issue arms permit to private schools in the province in wake of a Taliban assault on an army-run school in Peshawar that killed 150 people, mostly children.
The government has sought applications from schools in the province for issuing weapon permits.
A team comprising top officials of the Home Ministry and police will visit the schools for this purpose. Hiring of security guards will be the responsibility of school administration.
Moreover, the government has begun a survey of colleges to install CCTV cameras. The report of the survey will be finalised within the next few days.
