An explosion at a bus station in Nigeria has killed at least 20 people.

Local officials say the bomb wounded another 21 people at the bus station in Gombe city.

The station was crowded with holiday travelers when the early-morning attack took place.

A car bomb killed 10 people in late October at a bus stop in Gombe.

No one has claimed responsibility, but the attack Monday took place in northeastern Nigeria, where the Islamic extremist group Boko Haram repeatedly has staged attacks on civilians in its efforts to carve out an Islamic state.
