Firm helps students with online security

COMPUTER students are being taught about online security in a new initiative at Nottingham Trent University.
The university has teamed up with network security firm Stonesoft to work with students in the School of Computing and Informatics.
The deal will involve the company providing the university with information on cyber security and associated threats, such as computer hacking.
Visiting professor John Walker said: "The cyber-security landscape is constantly evolving, and the current day-to-day risk is extremely high.
"We must help students achieve a better understanding of the threats, which are targeting companies and governments around the world today."
Ash Patel, of Stonesoft, said: "Nottingham Trent is already well-known for its involvement in the cyber security world and we are happy to have them on-board to enhance the understanding of cyber threats. This is our second partnership and it will help drive further awareness about the problem."
