Yatri dies, 42 year old injured in mine explosion

Srinagar: An identified yatri died at Baltal base camp of Amarnath cave shrine in Central Kashmir's Gandebal district, official source said here today.

They said a pilgrim identified as Yatri Neeraj Chopra age 27 years son of Davinder Chopra resident of Suraj-Jung, Jalandher, Punjab suffered a massive heart attack at Baltal base camp. He was immediately rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Yesterday four pilgrims, including a woman had died at different places on yatra route.

Meanwhile, a person was injured when he stepped on a land mine in at Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir's Baramulla district.

Mohammad Yousuf Jeendhar age 42 years son of Satar Jeendhar resident of Churanda, Baramulla, got injured in his right foot when he stepped on a land mine while cutting the grass at LoC in Uri. The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital Uri for treatment. (GNS)
