Serviceman Killed in Clash with Militants in Chechnya

Baku-APA. An Interior Ministry serviceman has been killed when unknown assailants attacked a military unit in the Vedeno District of the Russian North Caucasus republic of Chechnya, a law enforcement source reported by phone, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti.

“A contract serviceman was killed in an armed attack near the Dargo locality,” the source said.

The attackers escaped. A search for them is underway.

More that a decade after the end of a federal war against separatists in Chechnya, Russian security forces continue to fight militants in the North Caucasus.
