Authorities: 3 Kurdish rebels killed in Turkey

Authorities say troops have killed three Kurdish rebels in southeast Turkey.

The Diyarbakir province governor's office said the clash occurred in the town of Lice early Saturday, when the rebels attempted to sneak into the town for an apparent attack. The rebels of the Kurdistan Workers' Party or PKK have been fighting for autonomy in Turkey's largely Kurdish southeast since 1984. The fighting has claimed tens of thousands of lives. (AP)
