Attacks, blasts, firing kill seven in Balochistan

QUETTA - At least seven people were killed, including two personnel of security forces and two others sustained serious injuries in different incidents of hand grenade attack, landmine blast and firing incidents in different towns of Balochistan on Friday.
As per reports reaching here, unidentified armed men hurled a hand grenade at the vehicle of security forces in Mand area of Kech district sharing border with Iran.
The hand grenade exploded, killing two security personnel who were identified as Usman and Raziq on the spot and caused serious wounds to two other soldiers, Riaz and Rashid.
The blast also damaged their vehicle as the assailants managed to escape from the scene after throwing the hand grenade.
Police and law-enforcement agencies moved the dead and injured to the nearby hospital after cordoning off the area.
The blast spread panic amongst people of the area.
The sources said that following the incident, security forces started a search drive in the area and arrested three accused persons from a house owned by Muhammad Yousuf.
The residents strongly protested against the arrests and a shutter-down strike was observed in Mand town, sources added.
Police has registered a case against unidentified people and started investigations.
In another incident, two persons were killed in a landmine blast occurred at Sindh-Balochistan bordering area.
Sources said that Raza Muhammad and Taj Muhammad were on their way in RD-109 area when one of them stepped on a landmine laid by unidentified people.
As a result, landmine exploded and wounded them critically. They were being shifted to hospital but they succumbed to their injuries, sources added.
However, the incident could not immediately be confirmed from official sources. Separately, unidentified assailants killed three persons in different parts of Quetta.
In the first incident, unknown armed attackers killed a person identified as Haji Khan Muhammad in Sheikhmanda area of Quetta and escaped from the scene after committing the crime. Similarly, one person was shot dead in Killi Kamalo in the outskirts of Quetta. The victim was identified as Muhammad Ismail while the third one identified as Shah Faisal was gunned down in Qambrani Road of the City. Police handed over bodies to heirs after completing legal formalities and registered separate cases against unidentified people.
It is mentioned here that violent incidents are picking up pace as authorities seemed helpless in controlling the law and order situation in the province.
