Baloch rebels attack Dudher project site, 2 Chinese engineers killed, many hurt
Two Chinese engineers were killed and several injured in a claymore blast by Baloch rebels in the Windar Kinraag area of Hub district in Balochistan.
At least two Chinese engineers were
killed and many injured in a claymore blast in the Windar Kinraag area
of Hub district in Balochistan on Tuesday.
Baloch Liberation Army
(BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack on the Chinese engineers who
were working on the Dudher Zinc Project.
The BLA has been
fighting against Pakistan's occupation of Balochistan and does not view
Chinese projects on Baloch soil favourably.
'WE HAD WARNED CHINA'
In a
series of tweets by BLA's spokesperson Jeehand Baloch said that "we have
continuously warned China to refrain from being part of any
expansionist designs".
The
spokesperson then tweeted about the attack by the Baloch Sarmachars
(freedom fighters). "BLA has attacked Chinese engineers in Windar
Kinraag area of Balochistan. This attack killed and injured many Chinese
engineers," he tweeted.
Later, speaking to mediapersons from an
undisclosed location, Baloch said "the Baloch resistance will not allow
the China-Pakistan nexus to loot Baloch resources in Balochistan.
'STOP PARTNERSHIP-IN-LOOT'
People
of Balochistan reportedly call the mining project a farce. In his
statement, the BLA spokesperson urged China to relinquish its
partnership-in-loot with Pakistan as soon as possible and not become an
accomplice of the Pakistani state in its barbarity against Baloch.
He
further said Pakistan is trying to use Baloch soil as a bunker post for
its ill designs on trench warfare to destabilize the South and Central
Asia, calling Afghanistan its worst victim.
"China is conning the
international community with the exploitative project of China Pakistan
Economic Corridor on the Baloch soil," he said. "The world knows about
China's intentions behind such a grandiose project," Baloch added.
