We will not allow Jundallah to use Pakistan soil: defense chief

TEHRAN – Pakistani Defense Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar has said that Islamabad will never allow the Jundallah terrorist group to operate from his country’s soil.

In an interview with the Fars News Agency published on Saturday, Mukhtar said that Iran and Pakistan, which have brotherly relations, are determined to cooperate in line with efforts to promote regional peace and security.

He added that now Pakistan regards the Jundallah as a terrorist group and will never let them operate from the country’s territories.

The Jundallah group led by Abdolmalek Rigi has done many terrorist acts in east Iran and killed tens of Iranian people over the recent years.

Commenting on a recent meeting between Iranian and Pakistani Defense Ministry officials, he said that the two countries are determined to cooperate to promote regional security and stability.

On Iran’s nuclear program, the defense minister said that Islamabad has no objection to Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities.

He went on to say that Islamabad has always supported Tehran even in harsh conditions.
